James E Young, the man who started this whole project. He is not often seen in the archive, in fact he only appears four times. He is last known to reside in Edinburgh at 28 Silverknowes Rd, circa 1979. We think he may have worked at the Post Office, or possibly as a policeman, in Edinburgh. Jim, a native Scot, previously lived in Taunton and possibly Leeds. The only hard evidence for Jim's identity at present is the Taunton camera club connection.
