Nancy, Jim's wife and partner is the subject of the majority of images in the collection. However as Nancy is often photographed unaware of Jims presence, she is frequently caught at a relaxed moment. When Jim does pose Nancy in the frame it is often with a side profile, back to the camera or in the car and caravan. My personal observations of Nancy suggest that she is a contented, middle class housewife who enjoyed family life, travel and fashion, although this is a construction based on my own feeling and interpretations of the archive.
