The archive features many cars and I it seemed a reasonable assumption that they belonged to the photographer. All I would have to do was find out who owned the cars, cross reference them with their owners and I would have the name of the photographer. Firstly I rang the DVLA and a helpfull lady gave me the number of information at records, where she said I could get this information. This was to be the first of many dead ends that I would encounter. Because of the Data Protection Act, information at records would not give out the information, so I had to look elsewhere. The first real lead was to be supplied by Club Triumph, who gave me various addresses of record archives across the UK and also localised the registration plates of the cars to Leeds, Taunton and Glasgow. To solve the identity of Jim it would take a combination of phone calls, letters, emails and Internet research.
